834,898. Making electrical components. BELLING & LEE Ltd. Aug. 30, 1957 [Sept. 6, 1956], No. 27281/56. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XXXVI] Components such as fuse holders, terminal or contact strips and valve holders, wherein at least a pair of contact elements are held in spaced relation in a support of moulded insulating material, are formed by inserting a pair of contacts such as 1, 2, Fig. 2, connected by an integral piece 3 into a mould 5 and moulding around them the support 4 such that part of the piece 3 is outside the support, whereby after removal of the component from the mould, said piece can be severed to separate the contacts. The severed ends may be bent back to form soldering tags. Fig. 10 shows a contact strip wherein the contacts 18 prior to moulding in the support 20 are formed as a single stamping as shown in Fig. 8, the connecting pieces 19 being removed after moulding. In making a valve-holder as shown in Fig. 16, the sockets 31 are formed initially from a single stamping with their terminal tags 29 interconnected by a ring 33 which is severed subsequently to the moulding round the socket of the body 34, which may be of resilient material.
