Abstract
834,899. Fusible cut-outs. BELLING & LEE Ltd. Sept. 6, 1957 [Sept. 6, 1956], No. 27282/56. Class 38 (1). A combined contact and spade terminal e.g. for a fuse as described in Specifications 643,561, 741,117 or Specification 812,070 is formed from a sheet metal blank as shown in Fig. 1. Two combined contact and terminal blanks 7, 8 are shown connected by an intermediate strip 9, the whole forming part of an integral strip of blanks. In forming the contacts and terminals, integral side strips partially severed from a central contact-forming strip 1 or 2 by incisions 5, 6 are bent back upon themselves as shown in Fig. 2 or Fig. 3 to form portions of double thickness, the parts of which are then secured together by solder or thermo-plastic insulating material which, in the construction shown in Fig. 3, is run into the spaces 17, 18 and may consist of the material of a moulded support. Fig. 4 shows supports 14 moulded round pairs of blanks 7, 8 of the kind shown in Fig. 2. After severing each pair of blanks with their support from the integral strip and removing the intermediate strip 9 the contact strips 1, 2 are bent as shown in Fig. 5 and interconnected by a fuse wire 15. The contacts and terminals may fit in slots in the supports instead of being moulded therein. Specification 834,898 also is referred to.
