A dielectric disc capacitor having electrodes on opposite faces has a pair of sheet-metal terminals, projecting beyond the edge of the disc, having end portions attached to the electrodes offset edgewise so as to cross one another. As shown in Figs. 4, 5 a batch of metallized ceramic disc capacitors 2 are provided with terminals 7, 7a stamped from sheet metal. The discs 2 are inserted between the bifurcated arms 8, 9 and secured by dip-soldering the whole batch. After forming the outer covering by dipping, capacitors are detached by shearing off the strip 14, leaving terminals 7, 7a tapered for insertion into slotted conductors. The pressure of connectors 8, 9 (Fig. 5) on the disc 2 may be increased by using clamping bars 17 having rubber faces 18. An alternative stamping, Fig. 10, may be employed by folding about line 32 so that the arms 33, 34 contact opposite faces of the discs. Another stamping described is in the form shown in Fig. 10 but bisected along line 32 and having index holes in the main strip. Fig. 9 shows a further stamping in which the ends 27 of the arms 26 are bent at the notches 28 to overlap each other.
