Abstract

822,764. Two-part couplings. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 23, 1958 [April 9, 1957], No. 11476/57. Class 38(1). A moulded socket connector for a printed circuit card 2 has double-wire spring contacts 3 moulded therein and separated by fingers 5 which form integral parts of the plastic moulding 1. The cord is held and supported in the connector by end guides 7 and 8 and the connector is provided with a mounting rib 11 slotted at 12 by which it is secured to a slotted mounting- plate 4. Printed terminals may replace the contact studs 10. The spring contacts are located off-centre with respect to the fixing lugs 16 to facilitate connection of terminals 6 of corresponding connectors in alternate rows when connectors in adjacent rows are mounted back to back.
