Abstract

834,096. Electrostatic precipitation. ELECTRO-STATIC AIR FILTER MFG. CORPORATION. Oct. 18, 1957, No. 32577/57. Class 39(1). An electrostatic precipitator consisting of a tubular member 22 with a lower slot 30 and spaced apart alternately charged grids 26, 28, has grids of different metals e.g. copper and aluminium to enhance the deposition of material. The grids may be arranged in pairs 26, 28 of the same metal, as shown, or grids of one metal may alternate with grids of the other metal. The grids are spaced apart by tubular spacers 24 and the tube 22 is supported within a housing 10. The tube and the housing are formed of dielectric material. It is stated that the aluminium grids are particularly suitable for the precipitation of oil from the gas stream.
