833,129. X-ray apparatus. SIEMENSREINIGER-WERKE A. G. Jan. 27, 1958 [Feb. 7, 1957], No. 2695/58. Class 98(1) Tubular metal rectifiers providing rectification for an X-ray tube are arranged in groups in a housing containing the tube and ancillary high tension equipment. The groups of rectifiers 77 are distributed around the periphery of a cylindrical electrical component such as high tension transformer 65 having two secondaries 70, 71 mounted on a primary 68. The rectifiers are connected to form a bridge circuit (Fig. 2, not shown) and are encased in a folded paper tube 76 wrapped in a further layer of paper 78. The anode end of X-ray tube 79 fits loosely in the stator 92 of an anode motor and is resiliently pressed into a socket 93 to make the anode connection. The heater transformer 86 and the other high tension lead 80 are connected to the end cap 84 which is bolted to flange 89 to provide ready access to the tube. In another form (Figs. 3-5, not shown), in which condensers replace the rectifiers in one pair of arms of the bridge, the condensers and rectifiers are mounted around an insulating sleeve surrounding the X-ray tube. The connections to the tube are made through spiral resistance wires.
