Abstract

832,269. Removing burrs in carding machines. VARGA, A. June 3, 1958 [June 3, 1957], No. 17560/57. Class 120(1) Fibres are fed to a train of at least two carding rollers 1, 2 rotating in opposite directions at successively increasing speeds, roller 2 stopping roller 1. Part of the fibres on roller 1 are removed by a dividing roller 5 and transferred by a brush 7 to a Morel roller 8 having a burr beater 9. The treated fibres are transferred by a stripper 10 to roller 2 which carries them past the point where it stops roller 1. A dividing roller 6 returns part of the fibres on roller 2 to roller 1 for repeated treatment. A third carding roller 13 may be provided, dividing and de-burring elements being provided between rollers 2 and 13 as between rollers 1 and 2. Further carding rollers may be added to the train. Provision is made for adjusting absolute and relative speeds of rotation.
