Class 40 (4) In a loud-speaker assembly which constitutes a line source, successive loud-speakers face in opposite directions. As shown, the six cone loud-speakers 1-6 are mounted on a common baffleboard 8, with loud-speakers 1, 3, 5 facing to the right, and 2, 4, 6 to the left. A single pair of terminals on the framework 9 may be connected to all the loudspeakers, the connections to 1, 3, 5 being reversed with respect to those to 2, 4, 6 so that the diaphragms of all the loud-speakers will move in the same direction at the same time. This arrangement of loud-speakers compensates for the deficiency in the higher frequencies of the sound rearwardly directed from a cone loud-speaker. If desired, some of the loudspeakers, e.g. 5 and 6, may have elliptical cones and thus produce an output rich in the higher frequencies.
