Abstract

830,536. Teat cups. SIMPLEX DAIRY EQUIPMENT CO. Ltd. Sept. 11, 1958 [Sept. 12, 1957], No. 28824/57. Class 84 A teat-cup assembly comprises an outer, rigid casing 1 fitted with a pipe 7 for connection to a pulsator and an inner flexible tube 2 which is tensioned and caused to dilate and contract by the variations of pressure applied to the pipe 7 and the annular space 6. The upper end 3 of the tube 2 is held in place by a ring 8 and the lower end 4 is gripped between a rigid conical sleeve 9 and a ring 14 the inner edge of which is inclined in the same sense as, but at a different angle to, the sleeve. The flexible milk tube 5 has a conical head 13 which fits inside the sleeve 9, a flange 16 to bear against the outer surface of casing 1, and finger grips 15 to pull it downwards for tensioning the flexible tube 2. The flange 16 may be replaced by a series of spaced ridges.
