A teat comprises a base 1, a tapered portion 2 reinforced by annular ribs 2a, an end portion 3, a valve 24 situated in the base and a crown portion 4 having holes 5. The crown portion may be roughened on the outer surface. The base portion is either flanged to fit over the neck of a feeding bottle, or may be attached by means of a clip.
