[Also in Group XXXIX] The back radiation from a loudspeaker passes through an aperture 17 into an expanding column C with its axis at right angles to the direction of movement of the diaphragm, and then into two further expanding columns C<SP>1</SP> running in a direction opposite to that of the first column and leading to breathers 22. The space immediately behind the loudspeaker opening 14 is lined with felt. An elliptical treble speaker is mounted behind the central opening 15, the outer openings acting as breathers.
