Classes 20(3) and 137 The jambs or mullions for a louvre window assembly are provided with longitudinal recesses each containing one or more longitudinal strips of resilient and compressible material to form a weather seal with the louvre blade holders in their closed position. As shown the jamb 11 has a longitudinal recess 15 into which a strip 16 is fitted consisting of a tape 17 with fibres 18 projecting from one face. When the louvres 13 are closed, as shown in Fig. 2, the strips 16 are compressed by the louvre holders 12 and form a weather seal. In the modification shown in Fig. 6 the strip consists of a tube 16 of extruded rubber or plastic and the edge 23 of the louvre holder overlaps the strip slightly. In further modifications, instead of the weather strip running between each pair of bearings, there may be a single strip running from top to bottom of the jamb, the bearings being offset and/or the weather strips may be arranged obliquely to correspond with the closed positions of the clips.
