Abstract

827,783. Friction grip fastenings. STEELS & BUSKS Ltd. April 3, 1958 [May 29, 1957], No. 17050/57. Class 44 Relates to suspender fastenings of the kind comprising a loop 1 adapted to be hung from an attachment, and a button 15 which is mounted on a tab 2 carried by the loop and co-operates with the latter to grip a portion of a garment therebetween. According to the invention, each of the side limbs 8 of the loop frame defining a bight of the loop 1 is provided along its inner edge with a flange 12 of lesser thickness than the parent limb these flanges interfitting with undercut flanks of the button so that the front faces of the button and side limbs' of the loop are substantially flush with one another when the fastening is made. As shown, the flanges are continued around the lower junction of the two limbs to form one continuous flange. The button is also undercut at both sides and around its lower margin. The loop 1 is moulded from nylon.
