824,862. Valves. UDAL Ltd., J. P. Dec. 10, 1957 [Oct. 16, 1956; May 1, 1957], Nos. 31434/56 and 13835/57. Class 135. Fluid-actuated mechanism is controlled by a valve having an inlet port 5 adapted for connection through an attendant operated valve 6 to a source of fluid pressure, an outlet port 7 connected to the mechanism, an exhaust port 9, and a piston 15 movable at a controlled rate and under the control of the valve 6 to cause the valve member to close the inlet port 5 and permit the mechanism to be exhausted through the exhaust port 9. Normally a toggle link 12 closes the exhaust valve 10 when the spring- loaded piston moves down due to the cylinder being exhausted. When valve 6 is opened. pressure passes to a press clutch operating cylinder 8 and also via a restriction 18 and pipe 17 to lift piston 15 so that after a time interval a slot in the piston-rod engages the toggle pin 13 and allows the inlet to be closed and the exhaust to be opened. In a modification the piston 15 opens a normally closed valve similar to 4 to allow pressure to pass to an actuating means which moves a spring-loaded valve to close the connection between the inlet and outlet ports and open the connection between the outlet and exhaust ports.
