823,703. Dashpots. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. March 22, 1956 [March 30, 1955], No. 9015/56. Class 108(3) [Also in Group XXVII] A dash-pot resisting the closing of the throttle valve of an internal-combustion engine comprises a piston 88, normally held against a stop 94 by a spring 92, and an actuating member 96 connected to the throttle valve and adapted, when the throttle valve is released, to close the opening 90 in the piston 88 whereby fluid can only escape from beneath the piston through a restricted passage 98 which determines the rate of closing of the throttle valve.
