Abstract
A glass frit plant growth nutrient medium produced by fusion and fritting in water contains 50 to 98% of matrix and 2 to 50%, calculated as oxide, of one or more inorganic compounds of the trace elements Cu, B, Zn, Co., Mo and V., 26 to 85% of the total composition is S : O2. Examples mention as additional ingredient elements phosphorus, fluorine iron, manganese and aluminium. A complete fertiliser may be formed by adding urea-formaldehyde to the fritted product. A preferred composition is SiO2, 26 to 85%, CaO, 1 to 10%, K2O, 1 to 15%, MgO, 1 to 5%, Na2O, 1 to 20%, together with the above trace elements. Specification 756,332 is referred to.
