Abstract

The following glass compositions, percentage by weight, are used as lubricants in an extrusion process (see Group XXII): SiO2 40-60, B2O3 5-20, Na2O 20-45. SiO2 40-55, B2O3 20-35, Al2O3 and/or Fe2O3 2-5, CaO and/or MgO 5-15, Na2O 5-15, SiO2 73, Na2O 19, SiO2 73. SiO2 40-60, B2O3 5-20, Al2O3+Fe2O3 5-25, CaO and/or MgO 10-25, Na2O3 0,1-0,5, K2O 0,1-0,5. SiO2 40-60, Al2O3 1-6, CaO and/or MgO 2-6, Na2O 10-20, K2O 7-12, BaO 10-20. Na2O 19, CaO 5, SiO2 73. The glass is in powdered form of predetermined particle size and may be sintered to form a block or mixed with a binder of sodium silicate or phosphoric acid.
