The ranges of some of the constituents of the glass of the parent Specification are modified as follows : P 2 O 5 55-72 per cent by weight ; B 2 O 3 1-6; K 2 O or Na 2 O 1-5 ; BaO 5-18; CaO 0-10 ; Al 2 O 3 0-3 ; SiO 2 0-21 ; ZnO 0-10 and MgO 0-10 the ZnO + MgO beihg 0-13 and the BaO + ZnO + MgO being 13-22. The glass like that of the parent has a high transmittance of ultra-violet.
