Abstract

821,781. Vehicle bodies. OLSSON, I. FALKENBERG A.B., C. Aug. 20, 1957 [Aug. 22, 1956], No. 26315/57. Class 103(4) [Also in Group XXIX] A tank 1, Fig. 1, in the form of a railway vehicle for transporting liquids has a flexible diaphragm 5, Fig. 6, of rubber &c. attached in liquid-tight manner longitudinally of the tank by clamps 7 to divide the tank into variable-sized chambers 8, 9. The surface of the diaphragm is similar in size to the inner wall of the tank and can conform in shape to the inner wall at either side of the diaphragm. Each chamber has a filling device 10<SP>8</SP>, 10<SP>9</SP>, emptying device 11<SP>9</SP> and inspection manhole 12<SP>8</SP>, 12<SP>9</SP>. The tank may be divided into compartments 13, 14, 15, 16, Fig. 4 by partition walls 17 with apertures 20, 21 therein closed by sealing plates 23 on either side of the diaphragm in each compartment to allow the liquid to flow into spaces 22 between the partition walls 17 if desired.
