Abstract

A dispensing container 1 for a water dispersable substance such as a disinfectant for use in flushing cisterns comprises two unequal compartments interconnected at least at their bottom ends and provided with an inlet/outlet 6 at the top most point of the larger compartment and a second outlet 7 communicating with the smaller compartment and situated at a lower level than the first when the container is in the operative position. A second outlet 8 may optionally be present in the top of the smaller compartment or the two compartments may communicate at the top as well as at the bottom. Several embodiments are described including an injection moulded, rigid container (see Fig. 17 not shown) but, preferably, the container is made of two sheets of thermoplastic film sealed together along their edges, one sheet preferably (but not necessarily) being flat and the other curved. Double containers composed of three sheets of material (one flat and two curved) are also described (see Figs. 15 and 16 not shown).
