Abstract

1361676 Carrying two liquid cargoes; ballast bags S FILECCIA 23 Aug 1971 [28 Aug 1970 19 Feb 1971] 39473/71 Headings B7A B7M and B7S Flexible membrane 323 with its peripheral edge secured to the inner walls of the fluid-tight centre tank of the ship shown enables two liquids to be maintained separately within the - tank. Header 17 supplies liquid cargo to the centre tank and heater 319 supplies another liquid which may be ballast water. In the embodiment shown the preipheral edge of the membrane lies in the vertical longitudinal centre plane of the ship. In other embodiments the peripheral edge may be horizontal or there may be more than one membrane. Plate 301 supports the membrane when it is on one side of the ship and grid 303 when it is on the other side as shown and the spaces below the plate and the grid are in communication through keelson 7.
