Abstract

1,166,457. Collapsible boats. NOVOTEC RESEARCH Ltd. 14 Dec., 1966 [21 Dec., 1965], No. 54073/65. Heading B7A. A collapsible boat comprises a quadrilateral bottom panel 1, spaced opposed quadrilateral side panels 2 and end panels 3, watertight flexible connections 6 between the bottom. panel and the side and end panels, and triangular panels 4 connected between the side panels and end panels at each corner of the bottom panel by means of watertight flexible connections so that the side panels and end panels may be folded inwards to overlie the bottom panel. One or more removable thwarts 28, each of which includes a rigid member 29 having at each end hinged portions 30 terminating in a U-shaped clamp 31, maintain the opposed side panels in spaced relationship. In preferred embodiments the bottom panel is rectangular and the side panels are trapezium shaped.
