Abstract
820,837. Handling road vehicles. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. July 2, 1957 [July 5, 1956; Sept. 11, 1956], No. 20824/57. Class 78 (4). A trolley for pushing vehicles in a mechanical garage has arms 9 which can be swung about pivots 10 to embrace the pairs of wheels on a single axle of the vehicle so that the vehicle can be pushed without lifting it. The arms 9 preferably carry rollers 16 and may be swung hydraulically or, as in the form illustrated, may be swung by worms 12 engaging worm sectors 11 and driven from a motor 15 through a torque-limiting coupling. The pivots 10 are preferably inclined so that the arms 9 move upwardly as they swing outwards and all supporting wheels similar to the wheels 3 may be mounted on an axle between the fore and aft arms 9 so that the trolley rises and falls at the same time as the vehicle when passing irregularities in the ground. Rollers 4 are shown guiding the trolley in a recess runway 5 in a parking stall or in the cage of a lift.
