820,677. Container closures. BRUNE, H. July 16, 1957 [Jan. 10, 1957 ; June 5, 1957], No. 22449/57. Class 125(3). A tamper-proof screw cap with threads 1a and flutings 11 has the lower edge provided with an external serration 2 which cooperates with teeth 5 on a safety ring 4 which has also internal teeth 6 to engage projections 9 on the container neck. The ring 4 is slipped over the neck 8 of the container and the cap 1 screwed into place, teeth 3 riding over teeth 5 ratchet fashion. Unscrewing of the cap causes the ring 4 to be broken and indicate tampering.
