Abstract

820,253. Drafting roller weighting arrangements. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN, G.m.b.H. Oct 30, 1957 [Aug. 23, 1957], No. 33913/57. Classes 120(2) and 120(3) Top fibre drafting rollers mounted on individual guide arms pivoted on a weighting arm are loaded by flat spiral springs. Each spring 16 has one end wrapped around a square-section bolt 14 mounted in a holder 8 adjustably carried in the U- shaped weighting arm 4. The free end of each spring 16 rests upon an intermediate member 19 to urge it against a guide arm 10. An alternative form of intermediate member consists of a bolt and domed nut providing adjustment of the effective length of the member. Safety discs are mounted on both sides of the springs and by being formed with detents serve as adjustment stops when the bolts 14 are rotated to vary the spring pressure. The margins of the slot 6 may be graduated to facilitate adjustment of the holders 8.
