897,411. Actuation of switches. ROBERTSHAW-FULTON CONTROLS CO. Aug. 21, 1958 [Dec. 10, 1957], No. 26932/58. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XX] A humidity-sensitive element 30 in the form of a ribbon of woven or solid nylon, woven rayon, polyvinyl alcohol film, cellulose acetate or silk is mounted at one end on a roller 58 and passes over rollers 54, 56 to have its other end secured to a chain 36 which passes partly around a rotatable member 22 and has an end fixed to a pin 38 thereon which also anchors one end of a spring 40. A pointer 26 co-operating with scale 14 is rotated by the member 22. A member 72, pivoted on the same stud 20 as member 22, has an index arm 74 which may be adjusted to any desired value on the scale 14. On the pointer 26 reaching the desired value, either from above or below that value, a cam-plate 24 on member 22 actuates or releases, through pivoted cam-plate 92, the activator 98 of switch 80 mounted on the member 72. In a modification, two members are provided with switches.
