Abstract

820,109. Hooks. LOVERIDGE Ltd. March 20, 1958, No. 8968/58. Class 89(2) A tow or like hook comprises a mainbody 1 and a hook-member 2 pivoted on the body and having a tail 2a engaged by a trigger 4 pivoted to the body at 6, the trigger having pivoted thereon at 7 an arm 8 closing the mouth of the hookmember. A cam 17 on arm 8 engages abutment 18 to hold the trigger on the tail. The arm has an eye-end 9 engaging the end. 10 of member 2, and carries a spring-loaded-latch 13 engaging a bore 14 in end 10. To release a tow &c., the following sequence of operations is carried out, either manually or by pulling a cable 16; first withdrawal of the latch from bore 14, then pivoting of arm 8 away from end 10, and last pulling the trigger off the tail 2a, whereupon the hook-member pivots anti-clockwise.
