Abstract

1,186,066. Quick-release hooks. PREMIER LAMP & ENG. CO. Ltd. and A. NALLY. 3 Sept., 1968 [3 June, 1967], No. 25745/67. Heading E2A. A quick-release hook coupling, particularly for a dog lead, consists of a curved hook 4 terminating in a generally transverse nose portion 5 the underside 5X of which is curved or inclined and a mousing member 6 which is slidable parallel to the direction in which tension in the lead 3 is transmitted by the hook to a ring R to be enclosed by the hook, a spring 7 normally maintaining the member 6 projected to retain the ring R but allowing the member 6 to be retracted manually, the ring R then pulling out of the hook by camming action against the surface 5X without it being necessary to slacken tension in the lead. The member 6, which is preferably of rectangular section, includes a peg 8 co-operating with a slot 9 to limit its sliding movement, and has a concave end face 6X to facilitate engagement of the ring R with member 6 during insertion of the ring into the hook 4.
