Abstract

903,599. Strap fastenings. MOSS Ltd., ROBERT, and MOSS, R. R. Jan. 19, 1961 [March 1, 1960; March 8, 1960], Nos. 7282/60 and 8225/60. Class 44. [Also in Group XVII] A fastening comprises a strap made of a rubber-like material with an eye 13 adjacent one end and is formed along its length with a series of projections 14, the eye and the projections being formed to allow the other, free end of the strap with the projections to be drawn through the eye from one side thereof for tightening of a closure loop but permanently to prevent return movement of the strap through the eye due to at least one of the projections taking up solely against a surface of the strap at the other side of the eye, and wherefor the strap is expandable and adapted to be cut to release the loop. The fastening also has a ring through which the free end can be drawn, this being formed with a recess 12 of dovetail shape and the width of the recess at its mouth is slightly less than the width of the strap between the base of the projections 14. The depth of the recess is equal to the thickness of the strap so that the free end of the strap can be forced into the recess so that it is held against withdrawal through the ring until it is pulled out of the recess.
