A spoon bait comprises a shank 2 folded back to form a loop 16 for the hook 18 and provided with a short transversely bent end 2c which engages over the top end of a weight 9 and into a transverse bore 8, in a plastic cap 6 having a bore 7 through which the shank passes with slight clearance. The spoon 1 is pivotally carried by a strap 3 fitted over a ball 5 resting on the top of the cap 6.
