Abstract

819,943. Distribution boxes; two-part couplings; cut-outs. TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE. July 8, 1957 [Feb. 18, 1957], No. 21611/57. Class 38 (1). A distribution box comprises a metal box body 8 having a hinged cover fitted with an insulating plate carrying riders 3, each of which is formed at one end with a knife contact 3a and at the other with a fork 3b, which, on closing the cover, engage in a clip formed by parts 2 and over one terminal of a fuse 4 respectively, the other end of each clip engaging a bus-bar 1 lying in a conduit 22 and the other fuse cap lying in a clip 5 on an insulating block 7, the fuse being retained on the block between a projection 7a and a seat both integral with block 7. The closing of the cover thus completes the connection between conductors of the outgoing cable (not shown) connected to terminals 25 carried by clips 5 and the bus-bars. The parts 2 are secured together by spring wires 17 and the clips retained in cavities in block 7 by an insulating rod 18 passing through holes in parts 2 and the ends thereof lying in the block 7. Each fork 3b is reinforced by a strip 14, and wedges keep each rider in position. Two studs 7h fit into openings 8a in the metal box body 8 to secure block 7, screws 20 threading into projections 7i on the block and also serving to secure a flexible strip 21 which engages a flange 22a on conduit 22 to hold the box in position. One of the outgoing cable conductors is connected to the earth bar 33 of conduit 22 through a strip (Fig. 7, not shown) secured to a plate 31 pressed against bar 33, a strip 32 fixed to plate 31 pressing against a part 7e of block 7.
