Abstract
817,967. Double-disc tensioning devices. ARUNDEL, COULTHARD & CO. Ltd. Oct. 31, 1957 [Nov. 26, 1956], No. 36044/56. Class 120(2) A double disc tensioner comprising a casting a of cut-away ball shape having a central spindle c which carries two discs n, q between which the yarn passes, the upper one n adapted to receive a variable number of concentric weights p, the spindle c being guided and held in the casting a by a circlip engaging an annular groove in the spindle c is characterized in that the spindle c is C-shaped and provides two axially aligned portions d, e of spindle separated by a gap, the upper portion e passing through a bush in the casting a being held by a circlip, and passing, through and positioning the upper disc n radially whilst the lower portion of the spindle d centralizes the lower disc q and supports both discs and weights p the gap between the spindle portions d, e and the ability of the upper disc n to move along the spindle c enabling the discs and weights p to be placed in position between the spindle portions. A wire s serves to lead the yarn into position between the discs n, q.
