Abstract

1383373 Spindle support MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AG 3 Feb 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 5035/72 Heading D1D A textile spindle 27, Fig. 3 is supported by bearings 26, 28 in a rigid tube which is supported in housing 18, attached to ring rail 16, by member 22, clamping coil 33' and spring 29. Member 22, comprising a circular metal plate having one or more slots spiralling towards its periphery, forms a spring having a spring constant which is the same in all directions radially of the spindle. The radial spring constant may be less than 30kg/mm. Spring 29 may have a radial spring constant of less than 15 kg/mm, and a spring constant axially of the spindle which is greater than 50 kg/mm. Alternatively, spring 29 may be replaced by a 'beam spring 14, Fig. 2, or tube 3 may be slidably supported, Fig. 1, on base 10 of housing 8.
