Abstract
817,205. Water-tube steam boilers. BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd. Nov. 14, 1957 [Nov. 14, 1956], No. 35574/57. Class 123(2) A high output steam generator has two upright radiation chambers 1, 2 disposed on opposite sides of a common downpass 3, the chambers 1, 2 having respective lower combustion zones 4, 5 and respective upper lateral outlets for combustion gases into gas passes 13, 14 leading into the common downpass 3. The passes 13, 14 respectively locate radiant superheater sections 19, 20. The downpass 3 is divided into tube walls such as 22, the middle pair of paths locating reheater sections 23, 24, 25 followed by economizer sections 26, 27 whilst in the outer pairs of passes are disposed primary superheater sections 28, 29, 30 followed by economizer sections 31, 32. Combustion gases discharge from the downpasses through damper-controlled lateral openings such as 37, 38, 39.
