Abstract

816,806. Clearing-apparatus for textile drawing rollers. WHITIN MACHINE WORKS. Feb. 25, 1957 [March 6, 1956], No. 6266/57. Class 120(2) A clearing-arrangement for machines for drawing textile fibres, having two spaced, but aligned, series of drawing rollheads, comprises a pneumatic roll-clearing device for each head, a common air exhaust system connected with all the rollclearing devices, and suction-means to carry the waste through the exhaust system to a hollow middle section of the frame by which the roll-units are supported. Each roll-clearing device comprises collecting members 60, 61, 62 and 100, 101 associated with the upper and lower rollers, and collecting-chambers 70, 104 with ducts 72, 73, 74 and 102, 103, the spacing of which can be adjusted: in each series the chambers connect with common headers 82, 85, which are connected by ducts 84 and communicate with a hollow chamber 87 in the middle section of the frame, from which air is exhausted through a screen. Each series of roll-heads is driven by its own motor housed in an end section of the frame.
