[Also in Group XXX] In an idler roller for supporting the belt of an endless belt conveyer and having at each end a cavity 8 for a ball-bearing 10 by which the roller is journalled on a spindle 6, the cavity is sealed by a piston-like member 13, which has a circumferential groove in which is located a piston-ring 17. The member 13 is held in position with its boss 14 engaging the inner race of the bearing by a circlip 16.
