Abstract

1,259,980. Roller bearing. SKF KUGELLAGER FABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 6 May, 1969 [7 May, 1968], No. 23085/69. Heading F2A. A needle roller bearing has a thin-walled outer race 11 having radially inwardly turned flanges 13 and 14 at each end, a set of needle rollers 12 disposed on the inner surface of the race ring, there being a pair of rings 15 and 16 each located so as to abut one of the flanges and the adjacent ends of the rollers. Sealing rings 23 and 24 may be sandwiched between the rings and the flange. The bearing may be made by inserting into a hollow cylinder having a radially inturned flange at one end, a ring, a set of needle rollers and a second ring, and then forming an inturned flange at the other end of the cylinder.
