Abstract

1,187,770. Bearings. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 31 May, 1967 [2 June, 1966], No. 25012/67. Heading F2A. A gear-wheel is mounted on two roller bearings which are supported by a gear-shaft; the roller bearings each have the axes of rotation of their cylindrical rollers inclined at a small angle relative to the axis of the gear-shaft. In an embodiment, gear-wheels 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are each mounted on a pair of roller bearings, the gear-wheel 7, for example, being provided with roller bearings 16, 17. The inner races 22 of the bearings 16, 17 are mounted on the main-shaft 3 and the outer races 21 are secured to the gear-wheel 7 by means of a retaining-ring 24 which is received in a groove 27 formed in a bore 23 of the gear-wheel and between the outer races 21. The inner races 22 of the gear-wheels 7 and 8, for example, are mounted end-to-end and are axially located by means of a shaft-collar 25 positioned at one end of the series of inner races and by means of an expanding retaining-ring 26 positioned at the other end of the series.
