Abstract

803,340. Yielding bearing supports. COLLIS & SONS, Ltd. J. April 19, 1955 [Jan. 26, 1954; May 24, 1954], Nos. 2303/54 and 15194/54. Class 12 (1). [Also in Group XXX] A ball or roller bearing 11 for a conveyer roller 16 is resiliently mounted in a cup-shaped housing 15 by an annular rubber insert 17 located between the outer bearing race 12 and a housing insert 18, 19, 20. The inner race is formed on a sleeve 10. In a modification, a metal ring is interposed between the outer race 12 and rubber ring 17. The flanged housing insert 22 may extend outwardly of the bearing as shown in Fig. 3. In a further modification, shown in Figs. 4 and 5, the rubber ring 17 lies directly in the housing 15 and a housing insert 24 has spaced lugs 25 disposed in gaps in the rubber.
