Abstract

816,193. Dispensing magnetic powders. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION. Aug. 30, 1957 [Aug. 31, 1956], No. 27314/57. Class 78(1). Magnetic powder from hopper 10 is distributed by rotating magnetic distributer 26, the material being scraped off by scraper 33 to fall into passage 34 whence it is discharged by a stream of carrier gas. The hopper 10 is screwthreaded into casing 14 so that by manual rotation of the hopper the distance of the discharge nozzle 16 from distributer 26 is adjusted to vary the rate of discharge of the powder, the rate being indicated by fixed pointer 18. The distributer 26 together with its shaft 25 and bearings are removable as a unit. Specification 797,022, [Group II], is referred to.
