Abstract

1398514 Feeding fish FIELD STREAM & COVERT (ENGLAND) LTD 26 May 1972 [27 May 1971] 17411/71 Heading A1A [Also in Division B8] Fish food in powder or pellet form is discharged at regular intervals from a bulk supply in a hopper 5 by mechanical agitation e.g. by upward rotation of helical screw 12 near the outlet of the hopper. Bush 18 enables the size of the outlet to be adjusted to the size of the particles so that when screw 12 is not in motion the fish food bridges across the outlet. The food drops into discharge duct 10 which is supplied with compressed air through nozzle 11 and is thus blown along the duct and across the surface of the fish tank or pond. The articles spread out and travel different distances to distribute the food. Container 1 has a removable weather-proof lid 3.
