Abstract

815,894. Lathe details; gauging-devices. KORONKA, P. Dec. 20, 1955 [Sept. 21, 1954], No. 27323/54. Class 83 (3). A gauging device for determining the end of a traverse on a lathe or like machine tool comprises a rotatable turret carrying two or more stops appropriate to traverses ending at different positions, and a dial or like gauge, with means for attaching the turret and gauge separately, one to the main slide of the machine and the other to the machine bed. The turret 19, Fig. 2, carrying adjustable stop-rods 32, is rotatable on a boss 18 carried by a stud 11 secured to the machine-slide. The turret is held axially by a spring 29 and nuts 30, 31, and is located in its operative positions by a spring-pressed ball 25. The operative stop-rod 32, Fig. 1, is in alignment with the cranked end of a dial gauge 40 secured by a bracket 41 to the bed of the machine. The arrangement may be used on a cross-slide, and may, in conjunction with a switch, be used to stop the feed motion.
