[Class 97 (iii)] A protractor head for a draughting machine of the parallelogram linkage type comprises a pin 7 rotatably mounted in a ratchet disc 8 and secured at one end to the drawing square 17, 18, and at the other end to a cover disc 10 carrying the mechanism 13, 14 for engaging the ratchet The ratchet disc 8 is secured to the parallel ogram linkage 1, 2, 3 through the bed-plate 4 and fine adjustment mechanism 5 and has a central bearing 6 into which the pin 7 is pressed by the spring 27 The disc 10 carries a graduated ring 20, which co - operates with ar index 22 on an outer ring 21. The latter is adjustably mounted or the bed - plate 4 and may carry additional graduations 23 corresponding to special angles. A clamp 24 is provided for the ring 21. The holder 18 for the square is extended beyond the pin 6 and carries an adjustable supporting knob 26.
