Abstract

814,983. Briquetting roller-presses. KOPPERS, H., AND SCHAFER, H., [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK KOPPERS & CO. K. G.]. May 30, 1956 [July 5, 1955], No. 16786/56. Class 87(2). A feed device for a briquetting roller-press comprises a housing 10 with a raw material inlet 18, a discharge outlet 20, a series of arms 8, on a shaft 6, and blades 34 attached to said arms 8 so that on rotation the blades carry the raw material towards the discharge opening 20 above which is a stop plate 40, disposed inwardly of the path of rotation of the blades 34. Within the housing 10, a hub 9, with the arms 8, is rigidly secured to the shaft 6, and a further housing 28 with two external cams 38 surrounds the shaft 6 to prevent ingress of raw material. Pairs of levers 32, pivoted one on either side of the arms 8, have their outer ends joined by the blades 34, the inner end of each lever 32 having a roller 36 co-operating with the cams 38 on the housing 28. The blades 34 are set at an angle, on the levers 32, so that their inner edges lead in the direction of rotation. The cams are arranged so that the angle of the blades 34 directs the raw material into the discharge opening 20. The stop plate 40, in two halves allowing the passage of the levers 32, is rotatably mounted on the wall 12 of the housing 10, further deflecting the raw material into the discharge opening 20.
