The auger 6 delivers a measured quantity of material by performing a predetermined number of revolutions, the counting of the revolutions being effected by microswitch 1 operated by a cam mounted upon the shaft of auger 6, the pulses being fed to solid state counter 7 so that the latter after a required number of revolutions stops the motor 3. Counter 7 is preset to give the required quantity of material. Counter 9 registers the number of revolutions after the performance of a plurality of operations of the auger, whilst knob 8 controls the speed of the motor.
