Abstract

1,046,759. Delivering measured quantities of granular material. HAMAC-HANSELLA A.G. Aug. 4, 1965 [Aug. 7, 1964], No. 33341/65. Heading B8N. An apparatus for dispensing measured quantities of granular material comprises a chamber V, Fig. 1 (not shown), into which the material is fed from a hopper 5 via an outlet in the form of an adjustable slide 6, a number of opentopped measuring cups 2 mounted for continuous movement under the chamber and a device 11, 12 for levelling the material in the cups, the distance between the outlet and the levelling device being adjustable. The levelling device is in the form of a brush mounted on a shaft 12 which is driven via bevel gears 14, 15, Fig. 1 (not shown), by means of a motor which also rotates a table 1 on which the measuring cups are mounted; the shaft 12 passes through an elongated slot 10 formed in a wall 8 of the chamber V thereby enabling the distance between the brush and the outlet to be varied. In a modification the brush is driven by a separate motor 18, Fig. 4 (not shown), which is adjustably mounted on a platform 19.
