Abstract

1,007,204. Delivering measured quantities of liquid or fluent solid materials. BIR-VAC Ltd. Sept. 23, 1964 [Sept. 23, 1963], No. 37413/63. Heading B8N. A device for dispensing measured quantities of fluent material comprises a member 9rotatable in a housing 1 and having a measuring chamber 13 adapted to be brought alternately into communication with an inlet 6 and an outlet 7, the chamber being connected, between the inlet and outlet position, with a duct 14 leading to a suction pump 15. The member 9 is rotatable by means of a handle 17, and located in the housing by means of 0-rings 10, 11 so as to provide a space 8 around the member, the duct 14 leading into the space; the housing is sealingly mounted on the wall 4 of a container in which there is a vacuum. In operation, with the device in the position shown, material is fed through the inlet 6 into the measuring chamber. The member 9 is then rotated to bring the chamber into communication with the suction pump which removes air in the chamber before the material is dispensed into the container.
