Abstract

894,857. Baling presses. FORTSCHRITT ERNTEBERGUNGSMASCHINEN VEB. June 17, 1959, No. 20784/59. Class 94(1). A baling press in which hay &c. is pressed in a press chamber 9 by a piston 11 comprises an auger 2 which feeds the hay in the direction of the axis of rotation of a pick-up device 1, one or two raking rollers 5 being provided to convey the material from the auger 2 into the chamber 9. The rollers 5 are provided with rakes 4, have their axes vertical and rotate independently of the displacement of the piston 11. A knife 12 is provided on the piston 11 to co-operate with the edge of the opening 3 to cut through any hay not completely passed into the chamber 9. A distributer 10 distributes hay in the chamber 9 whilst the piston 11 is in its lower position.
