In a baling-press comprising a swinging arm 1 carrying a knife 4 which co-operates with a counter-knife 6 at the edge of the baling chamber 3 to separate the material to be compressed from the material fed towards the chamber, the knife is formed with guide prongs 7, Figs. 2 and 3, which ride over the counter-knife 6.
