Abstract
814,835. Junction-boxes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Sept. 17, 1957 [Sept. 17, 1956], No. 28423/56. Class 38 (1). An electric junction-box comprises a baseplate, a cover-plate and four sides, each including a bar member, at least one side being formed with an arch to accommodate a cable duct and the included bar member being arranged to clamp the duct to the box. A base plate 1 has mounted on it four sides 2, 3, 4, 5 held together by screws 6 and is secured in place by screws 9. One or more sides may have an opening 7 which admits the end of a duct 8. The screws 9 when tightened cause the duct 8 to be clamped in position. The duct 8 may also be retained in position by screws passing through holes in the base of the duct into holes 10 in the base-plate. Copper anglepieces 18 may be connected between a duct and a side to ensure earth continuity in the system. One of the sides not of bridge form may have outlet apertures suitable for conduit. The cover consists of a frame 11 having fixing screws 14 and levelling screws 13. A floor trap 12 fits into the frame 11 and has holes 17 into which the levelling screws 13 fit. The floor trap 12 is secured by screws 16 and is recessed to allow for the insertion of floor covering. The junctionbox may be provided with internal separators.
